President Trump’s refusal to commit to a ‘peaceful’ post-election transfer of power is sparking serious concern for the future of the election. His constant undermining of the integrity of the vote is suggesting he might not accept the result if he loses and there’s been chatter online of a potential coup. The more I dwelled about the potential outcomes, the more uneasy I felt. Then I found Choose Democracy.
Choose Democracy was built as a short-term platform to prepare as many Americans as possible for a potential undemocratic power grab or coup in November. This organization offers the pledge, training, handbooks and resources on how public efforts can succeed to stop a coup.
