She Se Puede: A New Destination For The Modern Latina

Digital Destination To Know

I recently discovered She Se Puede, a new destination for the modern Latina, while listening to the UNDISTRACTED with Brittany Packnett Cunningham podcast. Writer, producer and activist America Ferrera joined Brittany to unpack one of the craziest first weeks of 20221 for the US. From a momentous Senate victory for Democrats in Georgia to a deadly white nationalist attempted coup, January was already off to an intense start.

America Ferrera also spoke about how her new organization She Se Puede helped rally the Latinx vote, what she’s doing to uplift other creative Latinx voices and the importance of “the Black-Brown alliance.” You can listen to the full podcast episode below.

According to the She Se Puede bio, the seeds for this organization were planted during the 2018 midterm elections when Eva Longoria, America Ferrera, and several more Latina activists were helping to rally the Latino vote. In two years they built a coalition of 10 prominent Latina activists from a variety of backgrounds to build a community that inspires, affirms, and informs Latinas, whether it’s about current events, raising bilingual kids, or how to ask for a raise. Their purpose is to help Latinas leverage their power, not just in their own lives and families, but also within their communities — and in the voting booth.
