Running slumps happen and breaking out of it can be tough. For me, getting dressed and out the door is usually the hardest part. I’ve discovered that if I can at least lace up my shoes and make it outside, I’ll always commit to the run.
So what’s my secret for finding the motivation to getting out the door? Dancing it out! I play upbeat music very loudly and dance around my apartment while getting dressed. As cheesy as it sounds, it works. Getting my heart rate up and vibing to fun music can usually break me out of the anti-run funk. Yes, my cats might look at me crazy, but it’s worth it.
